DUBTONIC KRU crowned "BEST NEW BAND IN THE WORLD" 2010 - 2011

The songs and spoken words are consciously thought provoking, while the rhythm/dub section walks through the passage of time with a gritty sound that rolls stones and breaks fences.

DUBTONIC KRU has never ceased to amaze their supporters. One of the significant milestones in their careers was the composition of the “I Swear” rhythm, a rhythm that took the Reggae arena by storm, which featured Chuck Fenda’s “I Swear” and Richie Spice’s "Marijuana”.

Another milestone was yet again attained, when they earned the title "BEST NEW BAND IN THE WORLD" 2010 - 2011 by the GBOB executive judges, after a fierce musical showdown of different genres that involved 17 bands representing their countries at the highest level at the 2010 Global battle of the bands world finals in Malaysia in February 2011.
The challenge ended with DUBTONIC KRU being the award winning band, Russia 2nd, Germany 3rd, South Africa 4th and continuing. It was an achievement that shook the Jamaican music industry with amazement and gave more credence to the recent revival of that island nation's live music scene.

The Global Battle of the Bands GBOB 2010 World Final at Kuala Lumpur KL Live! on Febrary 26 2010, featured 17 national final winning bands from every corner of the globle. The came from Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Indonesia, China, Englan, Germany, Jamaica, Malaysia, Moldova, Morocco, Norway, Romania, Russia, South Africa,  Thailand,  Ukraine. to compete for the GBOB Best New Band in the World title, together with the US$100,000 band development package.
