VP Records/Greensleeves News:
VP Records is pleased to announce that talented Reggae singer Gyptian’s new single “Hold You” has been buzzing the airwaves and climbing the charts. The single has reached number 2 on the Reggae Billboard Digital charts in the first week of its release.
The Big news coming from STB Music/Greensleeves is that rising star Chino, the son of Reggae royalty Freddie McGregor and member of the Big Ship family has signed a co-publishing deal with STB Music, Greensleeves’ US affiliate. Continuing to add to their extensive line up of great artists, STB/Greensleeves has signed a co-publishing deal with another member of the Big Ship family; dancehall singjay Laden. All parties involved are looking forward to a long and prosperous relationship making great music.
VP Records and Greensleeves most recent music placements include:
- "Money in My Pocket" by the legendary Dennis Brown and Beenie Man’s "Who Am I" were both featured in recent episodes of the new hit series from HBO called "How To Make It In America."
- The Jamaicans "Ba Ba Boom" appeared in the latest Orangina (soft drink) commercial in France.
- "Get Busy" by Sean Paul was performed to on MTV's Randy Jackson Presents “America's Best Dance Crew" (Season 5) and his hit song “Temperature" appears in DJ Hero 2 by Activision.
- Elephant Man's "Pon De River, Pon De Bank" and "WHINE UP" By Kat DeLuna and Elephant Man appeared on MTV's Randy Jackson Presents “America's Best Dance Crew” (season 5).
April Releases
Greensleeves Rhythm Album # 90 releases on April 6th. This latest album is from dancehall’s hottest producer; Stephen ‘Di Genius’ McGregor. VP Records presents the fourth album from veteran singer/songwriter Junior Kelly. His new album titled Red Pond will be available April 6th. It is an autobiographical tour through the various phases of his life. The album delivers contemporary wisdom on the universal issues of hope, faith and love. The album is a true collaboration between Junior Kelly and the famed Firehouse Crew, with Kelly writing vocals and the group providing the bubbling riddim tracks.
