Conquering Lion hails from the island of St. Maarten in the Caribbean. During his teenage years, Conquering Lion was raised in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida in the USA where many of his friends were of Jamaican heritage. He developed a love for reggae music in the mid 1980’s by going to see world renown soundsystems such as Waggy T, Metro Media, Stone Love, Bodyguard, David Rodigan and Kilimanjaro. His love for reggae led him to begin a massive collection of conscious reggae music. In 2000, Conquering Lion performed for the first time at Ragga Knight at Paradiso in the Netherlands. He gives credit to Father Jimbo of Ambassador Soundsystem in Amsterdam for teaching him a lot about being a top reggae selector. Presently residing in the UK, Conquering Lion has performed in various parts of the world including St. Maarten, London, The Gambia, Holland, and Venezuela. Conquering Lion is a master of conscious reggae music, and whenever he performs, you can expect him to deliver a powerful performance. He credits David Rodigan with giving him the best advice when David, in February of 2009, told him "Make sure you know your music, and ALWAYS play for the crowd!!" In July of 2009, Conquering Lion played at the Afriq-Carib Festival in Holland where he opened up for Junior Kelly. He is currently a dj on www.zionhighness.com and www.tellstream.com.
