MINNEAPOLIS DANCEHALL

Hope for the Child, founded in 2007, is a Minnesota based non-profit organization dedicated to serving and empowering abandoned and disadvantaged children in Kisumu, Kenya.

HIV/AIDS is an epidemic in Africa.  Out of a population of 33 million Kenyans, 15 percent are HIV positive, 2.5 million have AIDS.  As of 2003, 9 percent of children under 15 had lost their father, 4 percent had lost their mother and 2 percent had lost both parents.  This left more than 1.1 million HIV orphaned children in a state of emergency by 2005.  The poorest are disadvantaged in all aspects of HIV knowledge.

The students that we serve consist of children from various disadvantaged groups, including but not limited to, children from backgrounds of poverty, abuse and HIV/AIDS in the Kisumu area.

THRIVING PATHWAYS is a non-profit in Minneapolis that provides practical, relevant solutions to destitute individuals and communities in Uganda and Kenya, Africa. We will strive to give them access to high quality services, enabling them to make the changes needed to sustain themselves and walk into a future filled with Hope.
