Kimoy Orlando Graham aka JR Daine is a culturally immersed reggae artiste seeking to make his mark and greatly impact today’s music industry. This budding future musical sensation was born December 17, 1988 in the parish of St. Mary. He hails from a community by the name of Enfield, where he grew up with his mother and three older brothers. It is no surprise that such humble beginnings inspired the lyrics to his catchy yet reality driven song “We Alone a Feel It”, which he Performed on the Magnum Kings and Queens of Dancehall show. It was evident that this song had the audience mesmerized while they grooved to the catchy rhythm.
JR Daine is looking forward to releasing his new single “Life of a G” which was produced on the Vision House Label. He is currently working on new tracks which will be released on Corey Todd’s label, Not Nice Records, Ward 21 as well as Vision House label.
JR Daine’s interest in entertainment and music was born out of his brother Tidal’s (an artiste) love for music and his musical aspirations. With the encouragement and support from Tidal, JR Daine started writing his own lyrics in 2007. Recognizing JR’s potential his brother provided guidance and fostered the development of his talent and ability. They performed in and around their community as the opportunity presented themselves, this created exposure for the young artiste.
It was after receiving this exposure that he decided to enter the Magnum Kings and Queens of Dancehall in March 2011 it was believed he was the favourite to win the competition. However, he came in third place. Be sure to mark 2011 as “The Year of JR Daine” because this artiste plans to unleash a new wave of positive yet lyrical dancehall and Reggae music.
